BIOGRAPHY

Growing up in a one traffic light town, singer-songwriter Eric Sowers comes from a small rural town in northern Ohio.  Not only in his hometown of Sycamore has he created a name but has become a popular act across the region.  The path to where he is now has not been easy one.

It wasn't until Eric was 18-years old until his parents bought him his first guitar and he self taught himself a couple chords.  Eric says "I grew up listening to music all the time but it was never really something that was in my family at the time."  "I kept begging for a guitar and finally I got one my senior year of high school but I  had no idea what I was doing with it for the first couple of months."  From there Eric self taught himself a couple of the basic chords.

Eric graduated high school, not sure what he wanted to do with his career yet, so he headed off to Ohio University for one year before moving back home.  It was then Eric found out he wanted to start focusing on music more. Eric moved back home and continued his education at Tiffin University.  In addition to taking classes at Tiffin University, Eric split time working for his parents business and playing solo gigs at local town bars.  In 2013, Eric graduated from Tiffin University with his Business and Art degree and continued playing his guitar as much as he could. Packing local venues night after night with his acoustic show, it was evident that something special was happening. It was then that Eric realized his dream could become a reality and his determination towards his dream could not be denied. As he began playing more and more solo shows he then combined forces with other local musicians to form, the Eric Sowers Band.

The Eric Sowers Band is composed of Eric on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Dylan Kromer; bass, Jason Massie; lead guitar and Neal Anderson on percussion and drums.

Eric has won various singing contests across Ohio, and along with his band, has performed at festivals, fairs, bars and private parties. Eric and his band have shared the same stage and opened for national acts: Jon Pardi, Chris Young, Eric Paslay, Brothers Osborne, Granger Smith, Josh Thompson, Josh Gracin, The Cadillac Three, Waterloo Revival, Jason Michael Carroll, Natalie Stovall, and Blackjack Billy.

Combine Eric’s edgy voice, modesty, and relentless determination along with the bands musicianship and commanding stage presence, and it is clear to see why they have caught the attention of so many fans.  They quickly have become one of Northwest Ohio’s favorite country bands.

Eric and his band recorded their debut album in 2016 and is available on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and more. The debut album was recorded at Castle Recording Studios in Nashville, Tennessee and produced by Gary Carter.  Gary has worked with some of the top names in country music including Randy Travis and Faith Hill.  The Eric Sowers Band is working on new music, so stay tuned!

Eric and his band quotes he is “beyond thankful for all the opportunities and blessings in his life and thanks all of the surrounding communities, fans and families for all the support.”  “Our kind of country is your kind of country; see you all from the stage!”
